MEET THE TEACHERS

The Mother's Day Out Preschool staff has a combined experience of over 65+ years in the preschool business. Through loving relationships and satisfying experiences, we share God's love in terms that preschoolers can understand. Positive foundations are laid in the lives of children as they participate in activities designed to meet physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual needs.

MRS. MICHELLE | Director

Michelle oversees the Mother's Day Out Preschool office, where she serves as the Director of both Children's Ministries at DuBois Lakeside Church and the Mother's Day Out Preschool.

Something about me: My husband and I have been married for 29 years. We have 3 children, 1 dog and 3 cats. I love the beach and being outdoors, walking or riding bikes.
How has God worked in my life? God took a sinner like me and gave me a new chance at life through this job here at Lakeside Church. I was a single, teenage mom who knew the Lord but never had a true relationship with Him until I began working at Mother's Day Out. It was then that I was introduced to this "relationship thing." Wow, I was missing out on something that truly changed my life.
Something you don't know about me: My favorite TV show is Naked and Afraid, lol. I would NEVER try it, but I love the challenge as well as seeing others take a tough time and rise above the challenge to better themselves!

MRS. SUE | Assistant Director

Sue plays a key role in the Mother's Day Out Preschool office, serving as the Assistant Director and supporting the program's daily operations.

Something about me: My husband, Tim, and I have been married for 26 years. We have been blessed with two children, Matthew and Emma, and two furry family members, our dogs, Wrigley and Max. I have been working at MDO for 20 years.
How has God worked in my life? God has shown His presence in my life many times, and when I was in high school, I was asked to be a lector/reader in my church. I stepped way out of my comfort zone (speaking in front of people and drawing attention to myself), and I have been proclaiming God’s word in Mass for over 30 years.
Something you don't know about me: Nothing means more to me than my love for God, my Catholic faith, and my love for my whole family (dogs included).

MRS. KIM | Twos

Something about me: I teach in the toddler room. I've been married to my wonderful husband for 11 years, and we have 3 amazing kids that keep me very busy! I am very silly and love to dance and sing with my students! What job can you dress up in costumes for every holiday? I have just started learning about Muy Thai.
How has God worked in my life? God has worked His way in guiding me here when I didn't have passion or direction.
Something you don't know about me: My grandmother taught Sunday school here, my parents were married here, and so was I. My mother also taught in my room many years ago. I'm so excited to meet you and know it will be a fun year of learning and exploring!

MRS. KARI | Twos

Something about me: I live with my husband, Jordan, and our two beautiful kids, Emma and Bowen. I have a pup, Ruger, who is eight years old and loves attention! We love to go camping any chance we get! As long as we are together, that is all we need.
How has God worked in my life? Almost a year ago, I lost my job due to it closing. I was devastated! I believe God opened a door for me to cross paths with MDO and offering me a job! Now I belong to this amazing family I get to share my days with!.
Something you don't know about me: I have a cosmetology license. I did hair for ten plus years before I started working in childcare! If I could live anywhere, it would be the beach! I love the sun, sand, and ocean!

MRS. ERIN | Threes

Something about me: I’m married with four beautiful children. This is my second year at MDO, but I’ve had several teaching opportunities since graduating college in 2008. Working with little kids can be exhausting, but when I feel like a teaching opportunity is something the Lord puts in my path, I get excited and find so much purpose in loving and teaching these littles, who are all so different.
How has God worked in my life? God has shown up all through my life, making His presence so real and known to me. Life can be so hard sometimes, but His love, acceptance, and purpose for my life give me so much hope and passion to chase the dreams He puts on my heart.
Something you don't know about me: Since college, we spent nine years in South Korea. I started out teaching Korean 5-year-olds English and spent the majority of my time as a dorm mom to about 30 Korean teenagers at a Christian International boarding school.

MRS. GARNET | Threes

Something about me: I was born and raised in Clarion. My husband John and I have been married for 38 years. We have been truly blessed with two daughters, Jocelyn and Ashley, two great sons-in-law, and five grandchildren, all of whom are the light of our lives!
How has God worked in my life? I have been teaching at MDO for 23 years and have loved watching the children learn and grow to love Jesus!
Something you don't know about me: I’ve had my motorcycle license since I was 16. I also received my cosmetology license from the DuBois Academy of Cosmetology after high school.

MRS. BRITTANY | Fours

Something about me: I have been married for 8 years. I have a dog named Huck, a daughter named Dalis and son named Easton. I love to read, go camping and go to antique stores.
How has God worked in my life? God has blessed me with a beautiful family and shows me daily that there is living proof of a loving God to overcome challenges in life.
Something you don't know about me: I have prosthetic bones in my right ear to help me hear because I was born without them.

MRS. CAITLIN | Pre-K

Something about me: This is my 3rd year teaching Pre-K at Mother's Day Out. My husband and I met during college at Slippery Rock University. We've been married for almost 13 years and have been blessed with two children, Nora and Jack. We also have a dog, cat, bearded dragon, and fish.
How has God worked in my life? In 2020, God led us to begin the journey of homeschooling our children. 2020 was a chaotic year, but I believe this was a reminder that some of the best things can come when you least expect it. ♡ It has been a beautiful blessing, and my kids also love helping out here at the preschool!
Something you don't know about me: I love seeing the curiosity and joy of children learning new things and am so excited to be a part of these beginning years of their education!

MRS. SARAH | Pre-K

Something about me: I have been a Pre-K teacher for three years. I’ve been married to my husband, Tim, for ten years, and we have one son, Caden, who is seven. My goal as a teacher is for kids to love coming to school every day!
How has God worked in my life? God has worked in my life in so many ways. I thank Him every day for all the blessings He has given me.
Something you don't know about me: I grew up on a dairy farm! We used to milk about 100 dairy cows.

MRS. SUSAN | Pre-K

Something about me: I have been teaching since 1998. I graduated from Penn State University with a B.A. in Special Education. I married Jake on September 2, 2000, and have two wonderful sons, Gavin and Garrett.
How has God worked in my life? I’ve always had religion in my life through my parents, but found the love of God once I had my own children and began working with others at MDO.
Something you don't know about me: I’ve always wanted to work with babies or children. I am fortunate to teach Pre-K, which is my favorite age group.

MRS. TAMMY | Pre-K

Something about me: I have taught Pre-K for over 20 years. I married my high school sweetheart over 32 years ago. God blessed us with two children, our son CJ and our daughter Kenzie. I also have a golden retriever, Bella, who I adore. I treat the children who enter my classroom as if they were my own. Family has always carried huge importance in my life.
How has God worked in my life? My faith in God is what helped my family and me through my two battles with cancer.
Something you don't know about me: I have survived cancer twice and have now been cancer-free for almost 20 years.

MS. BRI | Teacher Aide

Something about me: I have been a part of the MDO family for over 3 years! I love doing anything outdoors, playing tennis, and have very crafty hobbies like scrapbooking and photography.
How has God worked in my life? God has worked in my life in a myriad of ways, but more recently, He has been calling me to a better path than the one I originally planned for myself. In 2023, I heard Him call me out of college, and now I am consistently working at MDO again, became one of Lakeside’s youth group leaders, am able to attend a young adult Bible study, and am planning to go on a mission trip!
Something you don't know about me: I was born with a cleft lip and submucous cleft palate. I adopted a dog with the same clefts when I was 17!

MRS. PENNY | Teacher Aide

Something about me: I am married and live with my husband and daughter in DuBois. I have lived in the area my entire life.
How has God worked in my life? Everything is His timing. I learned this when we were blessed with our daughter, Grace, through adoption.
Something you don't know about me: I love to travel!
